Glan-y-gors – A Contemporary Interpretation of a Forester’s Cottage
Nestling on the edge of Beddgelert Forest is this stunning architecturally designed property. This luxurious & contemporary holiday retreat lies in its own woodland setting, offering a gateway to the wonders of Snowdonia.
Secluded but not isolated, Glan-y-gors rewards you with many unexpected pleasures. Whether you are coming for a romantic break, an outdoor adventure or just to enjoy the wonderful surroundings of the Snowdonia National Park, Glan-y-gors offers luxury and comfort not just making it a holiday you will enjoy, but the place you will want to keep coming back to.
Originally built and formerly owned by the Forestry Commission, this landmark property has been stunningly re-designed by one of North Wales’s most imaginative Architects George + Tomos into this 21st century luxury hideaway.
New for 2017 we have introduced the option to book Glan-y-gors as either a 1 or 2 bedroomed property, with both having luxury shower facilities and kingsize/double beds making it ideal as either a romantic holiday for two or alternatively why not stay with friends. (** Minimum age restriction of 18 years old applies)
After a day enjoying the local countryside and attractions, what better than to come back and relax in front of the large tunnel woodburner located in the spacious double height vaulted lounge and enjoy the other comforts, including under floor heating throughout, luxury ensuite or shower room (with designer sanitaryware, rainfall showers), covered terrace seating area, outdoor patio for alfresco dining and of course the delightful rural setting complete with spectacular mountain & forest views.
As you step out of your door, you have the spectacular views of Moel Hebog, and the splendour of the Hafod Ruffydd waterfall. Miles of forest walks through stunning scenery await.
The picturesque Beddgelert village is nearby and the challenging routes up Snowdon are a walk away.
The Welsh Highland railway meanders through the forest nearby and the whistles of the stream trains are always a joy.
Fine local produce is available in the village shops or enjoy succulent meals prepared to perfection in the local pubs and restaurants.
The many real ales have won accolades and prizes. We would recommend any whisky lovers to try the local spirit.
On clear nights, the stars seem to shine even brighter in the ink black sky and you will fall asleep to the gentle sound of the river passing by or the hoot of the owls in the forest.
